Tea Stories
SkyE was invited to do an installation at a gallery next to the capitol building in downtown LA that had a tea lounge area sky could utilize and it was a perfect opportunity to smoosh together a bunch of their installations (i.e. on the performance page) to start in the park:

SkyE would wake up after a night of solo camping in the low 30s and do a ton of practices to warm themselves up so much steam would come off their skin to cold plunge in the snowmelt river to air dry their body and hair on a rock in the 40s and 50s with this view to themselves, since everyone else was scared off by the sleat and thunder, the first time we were all allowed to venture back into the forests after everything that happened in 2020

These inks, along with recordings of nature with no human sounds, brought about the creation of the Perspective series where SkyE is Queering the Canvas, attempting to make no normative decisions from building the frames by hand and stretching the canvas so none of the angles line up, and yet we still see a rectangle, because that is what we expect to see
Marks of love, peace, and joy.
Started 2021 the first time we could open our space to the world after shut down, all I could think to do was to give out Marks of love, peace and joy.
Each unique hand painted original ink is created live during SkyE's installations.
The symbols are imbued with the meaning of each word to create a mark that is not necessarily recognizable at first, but cannot be unseen once it is found.
Okay, inspired.

How in the world to bring this healing inherent coexistence with nature back to our cityscapes, anxiety filled lives, and actually make any sort of impact for the unheard voices of a generation?
Way back when during the 2010s Junk Art Costumes found their way into the work and in 2019 J&S put together Forever Chemicals where they invite participants to collect their garbage for a few weeks and then we get together, make junk art upcycled costumes, and perform a bit of a(r)tivism in front of the capitol building.

SkyE is a durational artist, so if you've read this far, that's a good sign y'all are a good fit. In Tea Stories, if you are invested enough in sharing your own story, SkyE just might offer to make you a permanent/impermanent ARTifact to commemorate your time together that you can take with you. And sometimes those Marks will be made years before you knew it was the mark I made for you.
Thus, why Tea Stories is a good gateway, a good starting point, to step into all the Layers of SkyE.
A dream…
Plastic plastic everywhere in our blood it lives
Climate changes species die a slow end it gives
SkyE is planning more performances, renegade or not, flash or scheduled, a(r)tivism or installation or gallery show or film premiere…there are many pans in many fires…and I've found myself surrounded by fireworks in 2025…
Tea Stories, Marks, Everwilts, Perspective, the installations, the durational art that if you stick around long enough, spend enough time with, perhaps Performance will show up,
