Tea Stories
Guests are invited to share tea and stories. SkyE will collect your stories in lyric poetry, reflecting them back to you while you sip your tea, then synthesize them into an Upcycled Aria performed at the culmination of our time together.

SkyE trained for a year (2001-2002) in traditional Japanese tea ceremony while living in Hachinohe, Aomori, Japan. SkyE has adapted the ceremony, honoring the spirit of intentionally making tea while not borrowing traditional elements or choreography, to create something unique that is accessible to modern Western audiences. The tea table was built by sky's hands in 2010 and has been stained from a stark white wood with all the storied teas over the years.
