You have two categories to come up with:

One is a dollar bid 

Second is what you are willing to promise

What is worth more? The painting, the money, or your word? 

I've refused many an offer. To which do you think I will consent today? 

And know that when you consent, you consent to both categories. 

When it is finished and deemed worthy of your promises, the painting might become yours.

“As a meat eater, I vow to eat as a vegetarian six days a week moving forward, knowing how much better it is for the planet, and fund research in plant-based protein supplements that taste incredible so maybe I can try for seven!”

 

“I will retire from my job in an industry that is contributing to the climate crisis and instead find a way to give back to society as a whole, while still maintaining my wellbeing and that of the (more than human) larger community.”
